The town of Blairsden dates back to the early 1900's as a train stop and summer recreation area known for its great fishing and hiking. The town is located about 50 miles north of Truckee in the beautiful Mohawk Valley. Aside from the hotel, the hub of town has been The Blairsden Mercantile, an old world general store.

In February of 2001, we purchased The Blairsden Mercantile and integrated the small town philosophy with the great selection and service that is Mountain Hardware. Other than some minor retrofitting, the building and business has stayed the same since it was built: a small town hardware store with a great selection of unique items and essentials.
